The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Hyderabad has launched SARAT Mobile App to Find Missing Person in Sea. Rajendra Singh, Chairman of National Maritime Search and Rescue (NMSAR) Board and Director General of Indian Coast Guard launched this app on Monday. Mobile app SARAT will be able to search 64 types of missing objects like boats, ships, man-over- board etc.
The mobile app SARAT can be downloaded from google play store. The mobile app will help mainly to find the people and the objects which are missed in the sea.

- This app will enable the Indian Coast Guard, Navy and Coastal Security Police to shorten search time during their various operations to minimize loss of life, injury and property damage.
- The app also offers request forms and responses in local languages of Indin coastal states so that the native fishermen can understand and use the app when their fellow fishermen are in danger.
- The SARAT system had earlier successfully assisted in recovery of the Indian Coast Guard’s missing Dornier aircraft off Chennai in 2015.
